When Baby is Giving You a Hard Time

I heard a piece of advice when my baby was younger saying that if you're having a hard time with your little one -- if you're at the end of your rope or maybe even just having a hard time being present -- imagine that your bb has grown up and moved away and you miss them so much when they were little and would give anything to go back for just a minute.

And this is that minute.

It really does help. When I get overwhelmed that he won't fall asleep or wakes up as soon as I set him down, I just use that scenario and then I can just stare at him and revel in the fact that he's so small and precious and he just wants my love and my warmth and my comfort and he's cuddled up so cute and close and, you know, maybe I could just hold him forever.

Granted, my little one is only 8 months old. I'm sure he's going to start tugging at my last straw much more as he gets older and practicing this might get harder. But I really do want to be one of those parents that lives in the moment and remembers how precious they are. I know it goes by fast and that I'm going to miss it.
